David Beckham receives five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians jersey from Ambani family

David Beckham graced the ODI World Cup 2023 semifinal between India and New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, and following the intense match, Mukesh Ambani and his family extended their hospitality to the Manchester United legend at their Mumbai residence on Thursday. David Beckham, presently on a three-day visit to India in his role as UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador, witnessed the Men in Blue emerge victorious in the semifinal, securing a spot in the summit clash scheduled for November 19.

Ambani family gifts Mumbai Indians jersey to David Beckham

During his visit, the iconic footballer received a mini-tour of Wankhede Stadium from legendary Indian opener Sachin Tendulkar. David Beckham also engaged in a short football session with some Indian players and enjoyed watching Virat Kohli surpass Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most ODI hundreds from the stands.

In addition to congratulating Virat Kohli, David Beckham participated in multiple events in Mumbai on Wednesday. His Thursday itinerary included a visit to Mukesh Ambani's Antilla residence, where he was warmly welcomed by the Indian billionaire's family. As a gesture of appreciation, the Ambani family presented Beckham with a custom-made Mumbai Indians 'number 7' jersey. 

The IPL franchise's official X (formerly Twitter) handle shared the image on social media.

Earlier, Beckham met with Indian cricket team's captain Rohit Sharma, and exchanged a jersey with him. Rohit got a Real Madrid jersey signed by the football superstar and gave him his Team India jersey.
