Pat Cummins and Co. once again showed their dominance in world cricket after winning the sixth ODI World Cup title. It was another heartbreak for India as they lost their ninth ICC knockout match in the last ten years, The ‘Men in Blue’ had dominated the tournament ahead of the World Cup final and won ten out of ten games.

R Ashwin admits Pat Cummins' captaincy masterclass in the CWC 2023 final 

Australian captain Pat Cummins took a shocking step when he chose to field first on an Ahmedabad surface which is said to be favourable for the batsmen. However, Cummins read the pitch better than others as his decision was proven right by the Australian bowlers. The Indian batsman struggled to score runs in Motera and was only able to score 240 runs, which was a below-par score on the ground. Veteran Indian spinner R Ashwin, admitted Pat Cummins' captaincy brilliance and lauded him on his YouTube channel. R Ashwin said: 

Final was a tactical masterclass by Cummins, he had 4-5 fielding setup, similar to an off spinner, hitting stump line - he bowled only 3 balls in the 6 meter mark towards the stump line as not allowing batters to drive - he bowled all overs without mid-off, a masterclass.
