Stuart Broad on how India's win will impact the entire sport
Ahead of the final, there have been varied opinions regarding what the win over Australia would mean to Team India. Many see this occasion as the opportunity to take revenge for the 2003 World Cup final loss, whereas for many the World Cup would be a tribute to the excellence showcased by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma over the long haul. Among different takes, former England pacer Stuart Broad also laid out his views on the subject.
According to Broad, India's win would uplift the entire sport. He gave the analogy of different sporting disciplines and kept India's potential victory at a parallel position with a sort like Brazil winning the FIFA World Cup, or Usain Bolt superseding others in a 100 m sprint.
"India winning the World Cup is a bit like Brazil winning football’s equivalent. There is a bit of magic to it. And personally, I think it would be great for the game if India come out on top against Australia in Ahmedabad because it will inspire the next generation of cricket’s powerhouse, just as their 2011 triumph did.
An Indian victory is the most marketable outcome for the sport — comparable to when Usain Bolt used to line up for the 100 metres. All of athletics’ stakeholders wanted him to win because it leads to bigger sponsorship, bigger TV rights, greater exposure for the sport." Stuart Broad via Daily Mail.

India vs Australia: World Cup 2023 Final Preview
Australia will compete in its eighth ODI World Cup final. They have won five of the previous seven, including three consecutive victories in 1999, 2003, and 2007. As for India, it is their 4th World Cup final. The team attained glory in 1983 and 2011, and the only time it came up short was in 2003 when Australia were at their dominant best.
However, times have changed since then and when it comes to this edition of the World Cup, Team India is unbeaten and may serve the cold dish of revenge to the Aussies. India may enter with momentum and confidence as they defeated Australia quite convincingly by 6 wickets in the league stage. So, with all to look forward to the colossal encounter will take place on November 19, 2023, at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
