The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday announced the prize money for the T20 World Cup 2024, currently being held in the USA and West Indies. A total of 20 teams are taking part in the marquee ICC event spanning 28 days, making it the biggest ICC competition in terms of nations participating.

ICC unveils prize money for T20 World Cup 2024
The ICC has announced that the winner of the T20 World Cup 2024 will get a whopping $2.45 million (Rs. 20.3 crore) from a record-breaking prize pool of $11.25 million (Rs. 93.5 crore). The runners-up will get $1.28 million (Rs. 10.6 crore).
The third and fourth-ranked sides will get $7,87,500 each, while the teams that do not advance past the second round will get $3,82,500 each. Teams finishing between ninth and 12th place will get $2,47,500 each.
Teams ranking finishing between 13th to 20th place will earn $2,25,000 each. Additionally, every team will receive an extra $31,154 for each match won, excluding the final round.

In the previous edition of the T20 World Cup, the total prize pool declared by the ICC was $5.6 million. The winner (England) received a cash reward of $1.6 million (approximately Rs. 13 crore). Pakistan, who finished as the runners-up, got $8,00,000 (approximately Rs. 6.5 crore).
India and New Zealand, who lost in the semifinals of the T20 World Cup 2022, received $4,00,000 (approximately Rs. 3.25 crore) each.
The eight teams (Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Afghanistan, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Netherlands, Bangladesh) that exited in the Super 12 stage took home USD 70,000 (approximately Rs. 56.8 lakh) each.
