Steve Smith is looking ahead to the challenge of facing Team India in Ahmedabad.

Chasing 213, Australia had to overcome the tremendous bowling spells of Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi to eventually book their slot in the final of the World Cup 2023. While it was nowhere near a convincing performance for the Aussies, the team is concentrating on the result and is looking forward to the final against India.

Steve Smith, who added 30 crucial runs in his side's victory over the Proteas, weighed in on the same and has conveyed that he is looking forward to the deafening sound that fans in Ahmedabad will reverberate.

"Good question! They are playing really good cricket. I don't think they have lost a game in this World Cup. They are playing really well, they are going to be playing in front of 130,000 screaming fans. Yeah, it's going to be a great atmosphere, I am looking forward to it," Smith said, responding to Star Sports presenter and former captain Aaron Finch, who asked the batter about how Australia can beat the 'dominant' Indian side.

Smith's poor run in ICC ODI World Cup 2023

Judging by his standards and the way he played against India in the WTC 2023 final, Steve Smith has had an underwhelming ICC ODI World Cup 2023, the player is short of runs and on occasion has looked stuck in the middle. Thursday turned out to be one of the days for Smith, when he struggled and in the end gave in to the mounting pressure of dot balls.
