Rohit Sharma reveals the big game player in Indian Team

Indian bowlers did a good job as they restricted Bangladesh to a competitive 256 runs. Powered by some brilliant exhibition of batting, Rohit Sharma and Co had an easy chase courtesy of a brilliant century from Virat Kohli. KL Rahul stitched a partnership with Kohli as the latter helped the batsman register his third World Cup ton. But later, Rohit Sharma revealed that Shardul Thakur was supposed to take the strike at number five, but it was too late as Rahul had already gone in ahead of the KKR all-rounder. He also added that Shardul is a big game player and his opportunity will definitely come.

In a conversation with Shubman, Captain Rohit divulged the details:

Shubman: How did you feel when you got out? were you angry? Why you didn't hit the ball upwards?

Rohit: Why would I feel angry? I played the shot wrong. I should've played it upwards.

Shubman: We haven't won against New Zealand at ICC events.

Rohit: We are playing good cricket. We will give our full effort. We have to do what we doing as a team. We can't think too far ahead.

Shubman: Shardul Thakur was supposed to come at number five instead of KL Rahul. Why did you change the decision?

Rohit: It happened because Shreyas Iyer got out on that ball. I had told Shardul, “ Get ready, you will be the next.” But by the time Shardul padded up Rahul was already on the field.

Shubman: Fans were disappointed not to witness Shardul's batting.

Rohit: He will get it. He is a big game player.

India will be put through a lot of challenges in the next few matches as they are scheduled to face New Zealand, England and South Africa in their next four World Cup matches.
