Australian batsman Steve Smith was dismissed for 4 runs while chasing down 241 runs against India in the 2023 ODI World Cup final. After removing the top Australian batsmen such as David Warner and Mitchell Marsh, India removed Smith as pacer Jasprit Bumrah trapped him in front. While Smith was given out by the umpire, the Australian batter resisted taking a DRS after a long discussion. However, in the replay, the hawkeye showed that the ball was outside the impact from the line of the stumps.

Team India's terrible batting display after explosive start in the CWC 2023 final
Team India opener Rohit Sharma started off the innings with an aggressive approach and was hitting the bowlers for boundaries. However, his partner Shubman Gill got out playing a nothing shot for four runs. Rohit continued his attacking approach but got out playing a careless shot for 47 runs. Indian batters Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored half-centuries and played innings of 54 and 66 runs respectively. While no other batter from the team was able to stay at the crease for long and the Indian team was at last wrapped up for 240 runs in the first innings.
