Maradona to be discharged from hospital

Soccer star Diego Maradona is to be discharged from hospital "imminently", his doctor Leopoldo Luque said Tuesday. Luque was speaking outside a hospital in Argentina where Maradona has been receiving treatment following brain surgery last week. "Diego's discharge (from the hospital) is imminent. He is not leaving today, but soon. I will tell you about that when it happens," said Duque.

Maradona, who is recovering from an operation to remove a blood clot from his brain, stayed under medical supervision in the hospital after doctors diagnosed him with "withdrawal syndrome."

"Diego has a very good diagnosis and a favorable recovery from the surgery and his withdrawal syndrome that we have talked about and he is now relaxing," Duque added. Luque said Maradona would continue his recovery in a house arranged for him.
