Another major international tournament arrived for Brazil and another major international tournament ended in disappointment for Brazil as they were knocked out of Copa America 2024 in a heartbreaking loss to Uruguay on Penalties in Quarterfinal.

Heading into the tournament there was a lot of pressure on Brazil and a lot of question marks over the team having not been impressive in a major tournament for a long time. But Brazilian players were confident that despite the criticism they can finally live up to the tag of favourites and win Copa America 2024.

However, it wasn't meant to be as just like Copa America 2021, FIFA World Cup 2022, Brazil failed to make an impact in Copa America 2024 as well. Post another heartbreaking defeat on penalties, Real Madrid and Brazilian wonderkid admitted that the team found it difficult.

Real Madrid wonderkid speaks after Brazil's exit

Brazil were without Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr who was suspended for the game. The game ended in a goalless draw and Brazil went out 4-2 on penalties.

As Brazil got knocked out, Real Madrid's latest attacking signing and Brazilian wonderkid Endrick spoke on the defeat and admitted it was difficult to accept defeat at this stage.

“We want to put Brazil on top. We will continue to work and prepare for the World Cup and I know that it is very difficult at this moment, but I hope that we will have the support of all Brazilians,” said Endrick.

Brazil definitely have one of the most talented squads in the world but their consistent underperformance on the biggest stage continues to be a problem. With the World Cup in USA away by only two years, Brazil need to turn around their fortunes.
