Trent Alexander-Arnold will be in focus ahead of Real Madrid's Liverpool visit in the Champions League next week. The English international joined Los Blancos before the FIFA Club World Cup in the summer and since then hasn't had the best of relationships with Liverpool supporters.

Trent Alexander-Arnold Returns To Anfield With Real Madrid

Arnold came through the Liverpool academy and burst onto the scene in 2016 when he made his debut for the senior side. He quickly became a permanent fixture on the right side of the defence and went on to lift two Premier League titles and one Champions League with the defending English champions.

Trent didn't extend his deal and announced in May that he would be leaving the club after his contract ended. This initiated a great amount of anger and fans even jeered and booed him during the Arsenal encounter back in May last season.

Ahead of his return, Liverpool manager Arne Slot delivered his verdict on whether the player would receive a hostile reception at Anfield.

As quoted by the Associated Press, he said, “I have great memories of the player and of the human being ... so he will get a warm welcome by me.

“Let’s first wait and see if he is on the pitch tomorrow.I have no clue how that’s going to be but he gets a warm welcome from me, that’s for sure.”

Arne Slot Delivers Alexander Isak Update

Slot further confirmed that Alexander Isak won't be involved for the Real Madrid match. “He’s definitely not starting on Sunday but maybe he can be involved in the squad. He’s still not training with the squad.”
