Imane Khelif's participation in the Paris Olympics has been under scrutiny due to her failing a gender eligibility test at the International Boxing Association’s (IBA) World Championships in New Delhi last year. Despite this, she was allowed to compete in Paris, which has sparked debates and discussions within the boxing community and beyond.

Janjaem Suwannapheng, however, remains unfazed by the controversy surrounding her opponent. Speaking ahead of their clash, she expressed confidence in her preparation and readiness to face Imane Khelif in the ring.

"I’ve looked into it too, about her hormones, and I know she’s lost to female boxers before, but that was a long time ago," Janjaem stated.

"I’m not sure if she’s gotten stronger or if her male hormones have increased. But if we meet again, I’m not afraid because we’re evenly matched," she added.

"I’ve prepared my body well too, trained a lot. I just think, no matter how strong or tough, we’re both human, we both have two fists. Having come this far, I want to go all the way to the gold medal."

This semifinal bout promises to be a riveting encounter, with both boxers determined to advance to the final and vie for the gold. Janjaem's confident declaration underscores her readiness to face any opponent, regardless of the controversies or challenges that may arise.
