Patrick Mahomes: Trust key for new 10-year extension with Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes said trust was key in agreeing his new 10-year contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The deal, announced on Monday, could be worth up $503 million, the most valuable sports contract ever.

"It's been a team effort the entire way and that's the special thing about this organisation, there's trust among everybody. As much as I trust in them, they trust in me," said the quarterback on a video conference call on Tuesday.

Coach Andy Reid said the contract was "win-win" for both sides.

Mahomes led the Chiefs to victory in Super LIV earlier this year, Kansas City's first championship in 50 years.
