Tamayo Marukawa named as new Japan Olympics Minister
Yoshihide Suga confirmed Marukawa, a former TV announcer-turned politician who has served Olympic minister and environment minister under earlier cabinets of Suga's predecessor Shinzo Abe.

The Japanese Prime Minister has appointed Tamayo Murakawa as the country's new Olympic Minister, succeeding Seiko Hashimoto, who on Thursday wsa named president of the Tokyo Olympic organising commitee president.
Yoshihide Suga confirmed Marukawa, a former TV announcer-turned politician who has served Olympic minister and environment minister under earlier cabinets of Suga's predecessor Shinzo Abe.
Murakawa will attend a certification ceremony at the Imperial Palace before officially taking on the new role.
