Tokyo 2020 President Mori says date for Olympics to be decided this week
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games were postponed as the spread of the novel coronavirus has gripped much of the globe and paralyzed travel between countries, with rising death tolls.
Tokyo 2020 President Yoshiro Mori on Monday said the date for the Olympic Games in 2021 will likely be decided this week.
Speaking to executive board members of the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee, Mori said that suggestions have been made to hold the Games either in Spring or Summer next year, but that they expect to hear from IOC Chairman Thomas Bach this week.
