UFC: Paige VanZant keen to fight again; plans a December comeback
UFC star Paige VanZant who had sustained an injury earlier this year wants to return to the cage in December this year. She has urged Dana White for a fight.
It has been a long time since we last saw Paige VanZant (8-4) compete in the UFC and it appears that the flyweight has now grown tired of having to wait for a comeback in the MMA championship. The 25-year old VanZant first broke her arm as she competed against Jessica Clark back in January 2018. She had injured her arm while attempting a spinning back fist on her opponent’s head.
Paige VanZant News: What caused the injury?
Paige VanZant made a comeback from her first injury against Rachael Ostovich on January 19, 2019. Following a Round 2 submission win via armbar, it was announced that she had sustained another injury during her training. This forced VanZant to withdraw from a scheduled bout against Poliana Botelho at the UFC 236 event this April. She underwent surgery to repair her forearm, then had a follow-up procedure as it failed to heal.
The fighter had to undergo yet another surgery to re-adjust the metal bar in her arm.
Paige VanZant aims a December comeback this year and requests Dana White for a fight
The flyweight contender is now looking to make a comeback as she pleads with the UFC President Dana White to book her return before the end of this year. In a recent interview with a media daily, she discussed her return plans on returning to the UFC. She also mentioned that she spoke to the UFC about a month ago and tried to force her hand to land a fight in December. She is yet to hear from the UFC on her request.
