WWE Money in the Bank 2024 pay-per-view culminated and like always gave out some of the most unexpected moments to dwell over. With despise towards the MITB briefcase, it was apparent that Drew McIntyre is going to win it, but to no avail. The rivalry with CM Punk has gotten even more intense and it is safe to say that Punk has made one more adversary in the process. How? Let's put it out by discussing what transpired at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

WWE Money in the Bank Results

Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match

The PPV started with the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The contenders for the eminent briefcase were Andrade, Carmelo Hayes, Chad Gable, Jey Uso, LA Knight, and Drew McIntyre. It was a solid match where each of the superstars enjoyed a dominant phase. All had climbed to the top at least once and had left fingerprints at the big prize. Drew McIntyre eventually won the contest.

Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker (For the Intercontinental Championship)

Sami Zayn received a rousing reception from the crowd in his hometown. Bron Breakker is seen as a future superstar and he once again showcased that he is a versatile athlete in the squared circle. As more hefty one in the ring, Breakker was able to dominate Zayn on all ends. However, the underdog champion found the way to win and downed the challenger following a Helluve Kick.

John Cena announces retirement

The Money in the Bank 2024 pay-per-view was always going to drop in some surprises but it spewed the most unexpected one. 16-time World Champion John Cena made his return at the special event and announced that he will be officially retiring from WWE's in-ring competition in 2025. He revealed that WrestleMania 41 would be the last time he would grace the squared circle of WWE.

Damian Priest vs. Seth Rollins (World Heavyweight Championship)

While it was one of the most anticipated contests of the night, it failed to deliver on the action quotient. It might be because of a forced build-up and two not sharing a formidable rivalry. The crowd was also not immersed in the match until chaos ensued as Money in the Bank winner Drew McIntyre showed up and made it a triple-threat match. The Scottish Warrior's arrival also brought CM Punk into the match, and once again the Best in the World hampered McIntyre's chances of grabbing the championship. Damian Priest pinned Drew to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match

The participants in the match-up were, Tiffany Stratton, Chelsea Green, Iyo Sky, Lyra Valkyria, Naomi, and Zoey Stark. The match proved to be the best of the night in terms of action. Even the crowd gave the contest its acknowledgement by chanting "This is awesome." In the end, it is Tiffany Stratton, who emerged to the top and captured the Money In the Bank briefcase.

The Bloodline vs. Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens

In the main event, The new Bloodline led by Solo Sikoa with Tama Tanga and Jacob Fatu faced the enormous challenge of Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, and Universal Champion Cody Rhodes. The match had all the ingredients of carnage being spilt and as it happened the action went outside the ring, the announcer's table broke as Fatu was put through on it. However, the biggest highlight of the match was Sikoa accidentally knocking out the referee, the coincidence saved him as he was pinned after taking all the finishers from the babyface team. In the end, Sikoa was able to hit Rhodes with a Samoan Spike and ended up winning the match. Sikoa pinning Rhodes has evidently made him the No.1 contender for the WWE Universal Championship.
