Apple’s price rise: Apple Inc. has announced price hikes for its AppleTV+ streaming and Arcade gaming subscriptions, as well as its bundled Apple One service, encompassing various subscriptions including streaming and music.

The revised pricing includes an increase for the Arcade gaming subscription, now set at $6.99, up from its previous cost of $4.99. The AppleTV+ subscription is also subject to a price adjustment, now priced at $9.99, compared to the previous rate of $6.99. The Apple One service cost will rise to $19.95 for the individual plan, previously at $16.95, and to $25.95 for the family plan, up from $22.95. Apple One encompasses subscriptions for Apple Music, TV, Arcade, and a 200-gigabyte iCloud storage allocation.

This price adjustment by Apple comes in the wake of similar actions by other streaming service providers, especially for subscription tiers that offer an ad-free experience. In recent news, Netflix Inc. revealed a $2 increase for its highest-priced streaming service, now priced at $23 per month in the US, marking a 10 per cent increment.

Additionally, Netflix adjusted its lowest-priced ad-free streaming plan to $12, up by another $2. However, the $15.50 per month pricing for Netflix's most popular streaming option remains unchanged, along with a $7 monthly plan that includes intermittent commercials.

Notably, The Walt Disney Co. also opted to raise prices, with an approximately 27 per cent increase for the ad-free Disney+ subscription, now priced at $13.99. The cost of an ad-free Hulu subscription has increased by 20 per cent to $17.99.
