Sam Altman, Greg Brockman to join Microsoft

Sam Altman, co-founder and former CEO of OpenAI, along with Greg Brockman, another co-founder of OpenAI will soon be joining Microsoft after the recent outcast from OpenAI, according to a tweet shared by Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft.

Nadella has also expressed commitment to Microsoft's partnership with OpenAI. Despite the departure of Sam Altman, Nadella affirmed confidence in Microsoft's product roadmap and the company's ongoing innovation initiatives, particularly those announced at Microsoft Ignite. Nadella also expressed the company's intent to work closely with Emmett Shear, who has recently been appointed as the interim CEO of OpenAI. 

In the tweet, Nadella said, “We remain committed to our partnership with OpenAI and have confidence in our product roadmap, our ability to continue to innovate with everything we announced at Microsoft Ignite, and in continuing to support our customers and partners. We look forward to getting to know Emmett Shear and OAI's new leadership team and working with them. And we’re extremely excited to share the news that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, together with colleagues, will be joining Microsoft to lead a new advanced AI research team. We look forward to moving quickly to provide them with the resources needed for their success.”

The announcement from Microsoft came after OpenAI choosing Emmett Shear, former CEO, Twitch, as its interim CEO.
