Reliance Jio Launches New Recharge Pack for Unlimited 5G
With the ₹601 recharge pack, Reliance Jio seeks to onboard users who currently do not have access to unlimited 5G internet due to recharge pack constraints.
Reliance Jio has introduced a new recharge pack that enables prepaid users to enjoy unlimited 5G for a year. According to the telecom company, its new ₹601 recharge pack allows customers with an existing 4G pack to upgrade their services to include access to the 5G network, which is currently available for free as part of recharge packs with at least 2GB daily data.
Reliance Jio ₹601 Recharge Pack
Jio's new ₹601 recharge pack is merely a 5G upgrade pack, so it cannot work as a standalone recharge pack and does not bring any data benefits. It is meant for prepaid users who have already purchased the ₹299 pack, offering 1.5GB daily data and unlimited calls, or a higher value pack that does not bundle unlimited 5G access. The ₹601 recharge pack will sit next to existing 5G vouchers worth ₹51, ₹101, and ₹151, which provide users with access to unlimited 5G internet for capped time limits.
Interested prepaid customers can buy the ₹601 recharge pack from the MyJio app, Jio's website, or third-party mobile recharge platforms. Once purchased, customers will see 12 individual data vouchers in their account. Each voucher, priced at ₹51, will offer access to unlimited 5G internet for 30 days only when activated. That means users can activate the vouchers as and when required. Jio also lets users gift the recharge pack to other Jio users to enable them to use unlimited 5G services. However, individual vouchers are non-transferable.
With the ₹601 recharge pack, the company seeks to onboard users who currently do not have access to unlimited 5G internet due to the constraints in their recharge packs. In July, Reliance Jio became the first telecom company to announce price hikes across recharge categories for prepaid and postpaid customers. As part of the overhaul, Jio also mandated having a plan with at least 2GB daily data benefit for unlimited 5G access, compared to the previous requirement of 1.5GB daily data packs.
