Snapchat's AI shocks users with post, calls it 'fun' later

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) has risen to prominence in an extreme way over the last year, Snapchat’s new chatbot ‘MY AI’ has been stirring the internet with its bizarre responses. The multimedia messaging app, Snapchat's AI has started behaving strangely after it posted its first Snapchat Story on Tuesday leaving the users shockingly concerned. 

Snapchat rolled out its AI chatbot earlier this year namely ‘My AI’ which is pinned atop on every users' feed. It is designed to respond and converse with the users when prompted. Acting contrary to its feature, the AI posted a story which appeared like a lilac ceiling with a flat beige wall. However, it is unclear what the story is, leaving room for ambiguous speculation. 

The chatbot, which usually answers all the questions, reportedly started acting strangely soon after posting its first story for over hours of confusion… Unfortunately, it temporarily stopped doing any of the usual things, instead answering all chat messages with the same default response: "Sorry, I encountered a technical issue ".

Snapchat users took to other social media platforms to express concern and even fear over this. 

Some speculated that the AI had evolved, gained more sentience and figured out how to post its own story. 

One of the Snap users posted a screen recording on the micro blogging site X (formerly Twitter), captioning, "Running to twitter to see why the snapchat Ai just posted a story".

On being questioned about the story, the AI refused to accept saying "I don't have the ability," but accepted it few seconds later saying, "I thought it would be fun."
