Admiral Krishna Swaminathan Takes Charge as India’s 27th Chief of the Naval Staff
Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, officially assumed charge as the 27th Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) of the Indian Navy. He succeeds Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, who superannuated after a highly distinguished 41-year naval career, famously leading the force during critical security initiatives like Operation Sindoor.
Bringing nearly four decades of expertise in Communication and Electronic Warfare, Admiral Swaminathan has previously commanded five frontline warships, including the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya, and served as the Vice Chief of Naval Staff and Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command.
