Video: Why China’s Military Can’t Defeat Japan On Its Own?

Amid China’s escalating pressure over Taiwan, Japan has shifted from restrained defense to active military preparedness, accelerating a major upgrade of its Self-Defense Forces. The move is aimed at countering Beijing’s expanding military presence in the East China Sea and its assertive activities around the Senkaku Islands.

Japan is boosting its capabilities with long-range missiles, advanced F-35 fighter jets, Aegis-equipped destroyers, and new-generation submarines to maintain a technological edge. Simultaneously, cyber and space defense units are being strengthened to confront emerging threats.

Tokyo’s security partnership with the United States remains its strongest pillar, with joint drills now incorporating Taiwan-related contingencies and reinforcing collective self-defense commitments. Ongoing debates over Article 9 further reflect Japan’s readiness to move beyond post-war constraints.

Additionally, growing strategic ties with Australia, India, and Southeast Asian nations are expanding the Indo-Pacific network, supporting a unified push for a Free and Open Indo-Pacific. Together, these developments underscore why China cannot overpower Japan militarily without facing overwhelming regional and allied resistance.
