Exclusive | Rahul Gandhi Dharna Over Pellet Row: Republic Questions LoP’s Silence

New Delhi: Congress leader and LoP Rahul Gandhi staged a dharna outside Delhi’s Parliament Street Police Station, demanding an FIR over alleged pellet-gun injuries suffered by 19-year-old student Sahil Lochab during the July 20 protest. Republic questioned Rahul Gandhi over his focus on the pellet-injury allegation while police personnel were also injured and investigations into the protest are underway. Delhi Police said Lochab’s complaint has been accepted and an investigating officer assigned, while its own case related to the protest has been transferred to the Crime Branch. Congress, meanwhile, has alleged excessive force against student protesters.
