Agusta Westland Case: Court Orders Release Of Christian Michel In The Case, Remains In CBI Custody

A Delhi court has ordered the release of Christian Michel, a key accused in the AgustaWestland money laundering case, after he completed seven years as an undertrial. The relief was granted in the Enforcement Directorate’s case, while Michel will continue to remain in the custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with corruption charges.

Michel was extradited from Dubai in 2018 as the alleged middleman in the ₹3,600 crore VVIP chopper scam. The case has been under investigation for over 12 years, and Michel has assured the court of his cooperation in the trial proceedings.
