Rishi Sunak's wife, Akshata Murty, gave a surprise introduction to his major policy speech at the annual Conservative Party conference. Murty, who is generally media-shy, told the audience about what drives her husband and joked about his love for romantic comedy films. This is the first time that Murty has taken center stage at a major event for Sunak. Akshata Murthy started by apologising for ‘gatecrashing’ the event, which even PM Sunak had no idea about.
