When Akshata Murthy Gatecrashed Rishi Sunak's Speech At Tory Party Conference
Rishi Sunak's wife, Akshata Murty, gave a surprise introduction to his major policy speech at the annual Conservative Party conference. Murty, who is generally media-shy, told the audience about what drives her husband and joked about his love for romantic comedy films. This is the first time that Murty has taken center stage at a major event for Sunak. The nine-minute speech was a cheerful kickstart blended with humour and an emotional note as she began to talk about the PM and their 14 years of marriage and other key elements of the party ideas. Akshata Murthy started by apologising for ‘gatecrashing’ the event, which even PM Sunak had no idea about. The 43-year-old talked about her husband, who is also her best friend, and how they have dealt with every difficult situation as a team.
