1,000 Trekkers Trapped on Mount Everest After Blizzard, 350 Rescued So Far

Around 1,000 trekkers were stranded in Mount Everest’s Karma Valley on the Tibetan side after a sudden blizzard hit. Heavy snow, thunder, and lightning forced rescue teams to act quickly, bringing 350 people to safety so far, while contact has been established with 200 others. Entry to the Everest Scenic Area has been suspended as operations continue.
