Video: Hindu Homes Set Ablaze in Bangladesh Village, Probe Underway
In Dumritala hamlet in Pirojpur district, a Hindu family in Bangladesh barely survived after a fire destroyed their homes. The catastrophe on December 28 entirely damaged at least five of the family's homes.
Family members reported that they discovered the doors locked from the outside when they awoke in the early morning to fire. By slicing through bamboo fencing and tin sheets, all eight members were able to flee. The fire destroyed their homes, possessions, and pets.
The precise cause of the fire has not yet been determined, according to the police. Five individuals have been taken into custody while the incident is being investigated. About 240 kilometers separate the village from Dhaka. Since then, a video of the incident has appeared on social media, showing residents trying to contain it as it spread to several homes.
