India Rejects China’s ‘Bizarre’ Claim on Mediating India-Pak Tensions

India has termed China’s assertion as “bizarre” after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi claimed that Beijing had mediated “tensions between India and Pakistan” earlier this year. The statement was made on Tuesday while Wang Yi was outlining issues he said China had helped resolve.

The claim contradicts New Delhi’s position that the situation in May de-escalated following direct talks between Indian and Pakistani military officials, without any external mediation.
