Trump Flags Maduro as ‘Terror Leader’, Orders Deadly Strike on Suspected Shipping Vessel

The United States carried out its 21st strike on a suspected narcotics-carrying vessel in the East Pacific on Saturday, killing three, as the Trump administration considers designating a cartel allegedly run by Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as a foreign terrorist organisation.

Following the operation, President Donald Trump said the US “may be having some discussions” with Maduro, even as Washington intensifies military pressure in the Caribbean. Speaking to reporters in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump noted, “We may be having some discussions with Maduro… They would like to talk,” signalling both pressure and potential dialogue amid rising tensions.
