Elon Musk returned to the White House after US President Donald Trump invited him to an exclusive candlelit dinner held in honour of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The invitation signals that the long-standing tensions between Trump and Musk may have finally eased.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, was among roughly 140 guests at the high-profile gathering. During the evening, Trump highlighted Saudi Arabia’s major investment commitments to American firms and outlined a new cooperative effort on nuclear energy.

This occasion marked Musk’s first public appearance in Washington since stepping down from his role heading Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency in May.
