Typhoon Kalmaegi: Shocking Visuals Reveal Widespread Destruction in Philippines & Vietnam

Typhoon Kalmaegi—after earlier killing 188 people and displacing thousands in the Philippines—swept across Vietnam’s central coast late Thursday, claiming at least five more lives before weakening inland.

Vietnam’s disaster management office reported that over 1.3 million people were left without power as powerful winds and heavy rainfall destroyed homes and uprooted trees.

The storm also triggered severe flooding in parts of Gia Lai, Quang Ngai, and Thua Thien-Hue provinces, injuring seven people and damaging nearly 2,800 houses.
