During a Senate Armed Services subcommittee hearing on March 4, US Marine veteran Brian McGiffin, wearing a full dress uniform and running as a Green Party Senate candidate in North Carolina, interrupted proceedings to protest America’s involvement in Israel’s war with Iran. He was immediately tackled by Capitol Police, after which Senator Tim Sheehy (R-Montana) physically intervened to help remove him, allegedly breaking McGiffin’s hand in the process.
