600 Experts Sacked, CISF Security, 4-Tier Paper Checks: Inside NTA’s Biggest Overhaul

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is facing a massive overhaul following repeated concerns over examination lapses. The NTA has sacked 600 experts from its examination team, while 20–25 new officials are set to be inducted in the coming weeks.

Question papers will also undergo a new four-tier checking system, while NTA offices are being shifted to new premises with CISF security.

The overhaul comes amid allegations of serious errors in UGC-NET question papers, including incorrect questions, translation mistakes and discrepancies in marked answers. Teachers and students raise concerns over challenge fees, answer keys and the lack of a systematic examination calendar.
