Andhra Pradesh Temple Stampede: Several Devotees Killed In Srikakulam Tragedy
A devastating stampede broke out at the Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Kasibugga, Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh, during Ekadashi celebrations. Overcrowding inside the temple premises caused panic, leading to chaos that left at least nine people, including women and children, dead and several others injured.
Rescue teams and police quickly reached the site, rushing the injured to nearby hospitals and deploying extra personnel to manage the crowd and restore order.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed grief over the tragedy, offering condolences to the victims’ families and instructing officials to ensure the best medical aid for the injured. A probe has been launched to determine how the situation spiraled out of control on what was meant to be a day of devotion and faith.
