Bihar Floods: Around 22 Lakh Lives Affected As Ganga, Kosi Rivers Surge; 12 Districts On High Alert
Bihar is reeling under massive floods as the Ganga, Kosi, Barandi and Kari Kosi rivers surge, leaving at least 20 dead and over 22 lakh people affected. Twelve Ganga-belt districts are on high alert, with locals reporting entire houses underwater and severe shortages of food and boats.
The state has asked for ready-made food and boats, while Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary announced ₹4 lakh ex-gratia for families of the deceased and promised to push for a permanent flood solution
