Delhi Blast Case: Umar Nabi’s Aide Amir Rashid Arrested in Nationwide Raids

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Amir Rashid Ali from Pampore, Jammu & Kashmir, for his alleged role in the Delhi blast that killed 13 people. Investigators say he conspired with suicide bomber Umar Nabi, who drove the Hyundai i20 packed with explosives and was confirmed through forensic analysis.

Ali’s arrest is seen as a major breakthrough, as he was detained just before the explosion and is believed to have travelled to Delhi to help procure the vehicle used in the attack. This development adds to the widening terror probe, which has already uncovered a large stock of arms, ammunition and explosives during widespread raids across northern India.

The case has grown more alarming after another vehicle linked to Nabi was seized and a separate blast in Srinagar claimed nine lives, further raising security concerns. Former J&K DGP S.P. Vaid has warned that a desperate ISI–Jaish module may be behind the plot, suggesting a deeper conspiracy.

With Ali now produced before the court, investigators expect more critical revelations as the verdict is awaited.
