D.K. Shivakumar Is Karnataka CM: How Siddaramaiah's Resignation Drama Unfolded

Congressman Siddaramaiah submitted his resignation as Karnataka's chief minister to the governor's office on Thursday, ending a three-year leadership conflict with his deputy, DK Shivakumar, which has occasionally sidelined and even threatened to overthrow the party's government. He further affirmed that Shivakumar will take his place. Siddaramaiah said that he had often stated that he would step down at any moment the high command gave the order. Siddaramaiah's followers were seen sobbing and patting his feet as they greeted him.  S Nijalingappa, Veerendra Patil, D Devaraj Urs, Ramakrishna Hegde, and HD Kumaraswamy are among the select club of Karnataka politicians who have served as Chief Minister many times, including the departing Chief Minister.
