‘Hydrogen Fuel Is India’s Future’: Nitin Gadkari Predicts India Will Become An Energy Exporter
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has called hydrogen India’s energy future, saying the country has the potential to move from being an energy-importing nation to an energy exporter. In his address, he highlighted green hydrogen production, hydrogen-powered trucks and buses, and the potential to manufacture urea using hydrogen and captured carbon dioxide.
He said India could produce hydrogen at a competitive cost and pointed to ongoing pilot projects involving companies including Tata, Volvo, Indian Oil, HPCL and Reliance. He also stressed that affordable hydrogen could help reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels and strengthen India’s energy security.
