8 women lost their lives and several others were injured in a stampede at the Sheetla Temple in Bihar’s Nalanda during a religious gathering. The incident occurred after overcrowding led to chaos as devotees surged forward. The Bihar Government has announced an ex gratia of Rs 6 lakh for the families of the deceased, while the PMO will provide Rs 2 lakh each.
