Nanded Woman ‘Marries’ Deceased Boyfriend; Father and Brother Kill Him Over Caste Dispute

Authorities have reported that a 21-year-old woman from Nanded decided to symbolically marry the body of the man she loved. The man was allegedly shot dead on November 27 by her brother after she expressed her intention to stay with him. Police stated that the woman had informed them her family disapproved of the relationship because the man belonged to another caste.

Five people — including the woman’s mother, father, and brother — have been arrested in connection with the killing. Police confirmed that one minor involved in the crime has been sent to an observation home, while two additional accused are yet to be identified.
