Scared Of Op Sindoor: Bilawal Bhutto Defends KPK Emergency, Cites India As Assembly Backs It

Pakistan’s National Assembly has approved the imposition of Emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari defending the move on the floor of the House in Islamabad on October 14, 2026. Bilawal claimed that Indian powers are trying to interfere in Pakistan and destabilise it, and used the occasion to reference Operation Sindoor, asking what it means if the operation is ongoing. His remarks have prompted the question of whether Pakistan still fears India’s military response after Operation Sindoor, even as Islamabad blames outside forces for unrest in the province. The resolution was cleared by majority vote, placing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a stronghold of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), under an Emergency.
