Yamuna Nears Danger Level In Mathura, Delhi Placed On Flood Alert
Delhi was placed on flood alert after Haryana’s Hathnikund barrage released over 3.22 lakh cusecs of water, the highest discharge this season. Officials warned that the Yamuna River could surpass the danger mark of 205.33 m at the Old Railway Bridge by the evening of September 2, with levels expected to touch 206 m due to heavy rainfall in the upper catchment. Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh confirmed the rising water level, cautioning that the Yamuna may cross the danger mark tonight.
