Zakir Naik Sting Tapes: How The Fugitive Terror Preacher Was Stung In Kuala Lumpur | Full Story

Republic Media Network’s Guwahati bureau chief Aniruddha Bhakat tracked down absconding fugitive terror preacher Zakir Naik in Kuala Lumpur and conducted a daring undercover sting. Bhakat reached Naik through a close aide on WhatsApp and secured a nearly 1 hour 45 minute meeting on the 21st floor of Tower C at Tamara Residence in Putrajaya, just kilometres from the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office. The operation bypassed Malaysian police, CCTV, and two bodyguards (one Malaysian, one reportedly from Peshawar). Naik, who fled India in 2016 and faces NIA probes under UAPA, Enforcement Directorate money-laundering charges, and multiple hate-speech cases, dismissed them all as “just allegations.”

In the explosive recording, Naik declares he will return to India only “After BJP goes,” claiming the party “will not survive” until the 2029 elections. He welcomes the “cockroach” protests demanding the resignations of the Chief Election Commissioner and Home Minister Amit Shah, prefers a Congress-led coalition including Mamata Banerjee, and calls Rahul Gandhi “better than Modi” despite his inexperience. Republic links these views to “regime change” voices and recalls Digvijaya Singh’s past praise plus Naik’s ₹50 lakh donation to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation,  renewing the call for his extradition.
