8 Children Aged 1 To 14 Killed In Horrific Mass Shooting In USA, Suspect Shot Dead During Police Chase

Louisiana: Eight children were killed in a ‘domestic disturbance’ in USA's Louisiana today (Sunday), police said. The mass shooting took place at around 6 am (local time) in Shreveport at different homes. The deceased include children between one and 14 years of age.

According to police, a total of ten people were shot at. Apart from the deceased children, two women also suffered gunshot injures to the head and survived. Further, a young boy got injured while trying to jump off the roof during the shooting.

Some of the children who were shot were related to the shooter. The shootings extended across three locations.

‘My Heart Is Taken Aback’: Police

Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith called the incident an “extensive scene unlike anything most of us have ever seen”. He added, "I just don’t know what to say, my heart is just taken aback…I cannot begin to imagine how such an event could occur.”

Shooter Killed During Chase

The suspected shooter fled from the crime scene after stealing a vehicle. He was subsequently chased by the police. During the vehicle chase in Bossier Parish, officers shot at the suspect, killing him. No police officers were injured during the incident.
