Anti-coronavirus graffiti and murals urge people in the Gaza Strip to follow safety precautions while symbolising hope for the New Year.

The paintings are an attempt to raise the people's awareness about the need to wear masks and keep distance.

"My hand in yours to protect our elders," reads one phrase next to a coronavirus icon with hellish face.

Another mural shows two masked medical workers comforting each other.

The residents who are experiencing a raging outbreak with no news of upcoming vaccinations are trying to build hope for the New Year.

"We ask God in the year 2021 to lift this epidemic from us," said Gaza citizen Mohammad Abu Nasser.
