Authorities in Brazil's largest city began a 34-hour "vaccination festival" targeting 18 to 21-year-olds, as part of efforts to have all adults vaccinated with a first dose by Sunday night.
Health authorities were expecting some 600-thousand people to attend the festival in Sao Paulo.
Thirteen drive-thru and three mega vaccination sites opened at 7 a.m. Saturday and will continue operating until Sunday 5pm - a total of 34 hours of uninterrupted jabs.
Live music and street performers entertained people waiting in queues to be vaccinated, although no one was allowed to leave their car.
According to São Paulo State Government, by Saturday night, 90.15% of the state's adult population had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, almost 31 million jabs.
Nearly 12 million people have received two doses and 1.1 million have been vaccinated with the Janssen single-dose vaccine.
Brazil has recorded over 567,800 COVID-19 deaths according to the Johns Hopkins University.
