Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with US President Joe Biden at the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro on Monday, describing the meeting as a "delight." PM Modi shared a photo of the two leaders together on X (formerly Twitter) and expressed his appreciation for the meeting.

"Always a delight to meet him," the Prime Minister wrote, referring to Biden. During his time in Rio, PM Modi also interacted with other global leaders, including UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. His engagements in Brazil are part of a broader diplomatic tour, following his visit to Nigeria, where he became the first Indian prime minister in 17 years to visit the African nation.

PM Modi and Biden's relationship has been marked by several recent high-profile meetings, including at the Quad Leaders' Summit in September, hosted by President Biden and attended by the leaders of Australia and Japan.

The two leaders also had a brief interaction during the G7 Summit in Italy earlier this year, and in August, they held a phone conversation to discuss various regional issues, including political developments in Bangladesh .

The Prime Minister’s arrival in Rio was met with warm enthusiasm by Brazil’s Indian diaspora, who welcomed him with traditional Sanskrit chants.
