French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian appeared upbeat and positive as the U.N. climate summit continued in Glasgow on Thursday.
He said there was a "positive dynamic" that went beyond what he had expected.
Le Drian is there to champion France's priorities towards climate change, which include strengthening partnerships with emerging countries and showing solidarity with those countries most affected by climate change.
He said the conference was moving in a positive direction, although he didn't go into detail.
Le Drian concluded that a united agreement on keeping the 1.5 degree alive and on carbon neutrality by 2050 would make the Glasgow conference a success.
