Washington DC: Former FBI Director and Special Counsel Robert Mueller has died at the age of 81, with his family confirming his passing. Following his demise, US President Donald Trump celebrated the news and passed an insensitive comment on the ex-FBI head, saying he's “glad” that Mueller is dead.

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump wrote, “Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”

Why Is Trump Celebrating?

Robert Mueller

Robert Mueller conducted an investigation into Russian interference during the 2016 US Presidential elections, in which Trump was also a candidate. Mueller had probed the connections between Donald Trump's Presidential campaign and Russia.

However, Mueller decided not to bring any criminal charges against a sitting President.

Mueller was one of the most prominent figures in modern US law enforcement. He served as FBI Director from 2001 to 2013, taking charge just days before the September 11 attacks and later overseeing a major shift in the agency’s focus toward counterterrorism.

‘When Trump Dies…’: Trump Faces Backlash

Trump is facing huge backlash from Americans for his insensitive comments following Mueller's death. In a post on X, political commentator Brian Krassenstein said, “When Trump dies. Good, I’ll be glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!”

An X user said, “Let Trump be Trump…But let it be known, we will celebrate his death, we will dance in the streets, we will break out the BBQ and feast on his demise…They will need to hide his grave cause people will take pilgrimages to piss on his grave.”

Another said, I am all about being decent after someone dies. I expressed regret and sympathy when Charlie Kirk died. I will keep doing this. Except for Trump. I hereby officially excuse myself from any restraint. Upon Trump's death, I will laugh, I will sing, I will dance the Macarena."
