Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has attracted widespread condemnation and backlash after his driver was seen spitting on a woman's face in London's Hyde Park for slamming the Pakistan Minister as 'a corrupt politician'. In the footage that has gone viral online, a woman is seen approaching the vehicle of the 73-year-old ex-Pakistan politician who was seated alongside his driver. The woman was recording the entire incident on the phone. She is seen hurling insults at the former Pakistani politician saying that he's the most corrupt minister.

''I've heard that you are a very corrupt Pakistani politician,'' the woman yelled at Nawaz Sharif.

As the woman continued to take a jibe at Sharif, his driver rolled down the windshield of the motorcade and stared at the woman in anger. In what was seen as an outrageous act, he then spat on her face. After pulling the move, the driver rolled back the window of the car and drove off. Sharif didn't seemingly stop his chauffer from abusing the woman by spitting on her face. Instead, the Pakistani politician was seen smirking the entire time as the incident unfolded.

'Sick of this selective morality, disgusting': PTI member

A member of Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party (PTI), shared the video on X condemning the act. She revealed that the woman who was attacked is a journalist. ''Nawaz Sharif's driver spits on the face of a journalist who asked a question! None of the liberals, intellectuals, or feminists will speak against it. Sick of this selective morality!! Disgusting," Dr. Fatima K wrote.

Pakistani citizens were infuriated at the incident as they demanded accountability from Nawaz Sharif, while others suggested that he must apologise. "He proves that he is not only corrupt but also a devil," one wrote on the microblogging platform X. Another netizen slammed the conduct of the Pakistani politicians, saying, "And there is no PM of Pakistan who has not gone to jail and that too for a long time or continues."

Meanwhile one stressed, that the female journalist "asked that I have heard that you are a corrupt politician of Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif pointed to his guard and he spat on the woman's face. And such a rhinoceros is being imposed on Pakistanis." One other angry netizen wrote, "This is the same PM who has to leave his own country and live in another's country, then understand what will be the fate of this.."

It is to be noted that in May, Met Police in London and the British Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) sent a letter to Nawaz Sharif's residence at Avenfield House with the registration details of at least three cars registered in his name that were misused for a crime or for terrorism, according to Islamabad based reports. Sharif, however, denied that the cars belonged to him over a reported criminal activity in March to the DVLA, that led to a police investigation.

It remains unclear if his driver was involved as reportedly, a notice was sent regarding him to the former Pakistan Prime Minister. Khurram Butt, a London-based PML-N spokesperson, claimed that the act was β€œa malicious attempt by some individuals to exploit the name and reputation of the PML-N leader for criminal purposes," according to Pakistan's newspaper Dawn.
